A unique and
ancient Christian community, the Ethiopian Church
dates its connection to the Holyland from the 4th
century. The Ethiopian rite is an Africanized form
of the Egyptian Coptic rite and is practiced in the
Ge’ez language. The Ethiopian Church has 33 popular
and picturesque feast days for the Blessed Virgin.
